About the Village Balipadia

Balipadia is a midsized village located in the district of Jajpur in the state of Odisha. It has a population of about 2000 persons living in around 499 households. It is situated in the left side of the National Highway No 5A which connects Paradip port from Chandikhole. This village lies at the center of world famous Buddhist sites Lalitgiri, Udaygiri and Ratnagiri. Patamundai Canal and Birupa river flows alongside the village.

The main occupation of the villagers is Agriculture. The village has given birth to many renowned persons like Ratnakar choudhury (Freedom fighter) and Dr Harish Chandra Prusty (Historian and Buddha researcher). The Village has Telengeswar club which  promotes different  socio cultural activities in the village.  The club sponsors cricket tournament, Musical night by renowned singers and Artists each year. Telengeswar (God Shiva) is the main worshiped deity of the village.

How to Reach the Village Balipadia

Buses always go towards Benipur and chhoti mangalpur stops at Tigiria. From there it’s a 10 mins walk to Balipadia village. Alternatively  one can get down at Bandareswar near Lalitgiri and hire a Rickshaw  or Auto  to reach Balipadia via Barada.
