Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported zero COVID19 positive cases for third consecutive day on Friday. As per the data shared by the Health and Family Welfare Department on its website, a total of 1,024 samples were tested on April 17 (till midnight) which turned out to be negative for coronavirus.
The Health Department informed that as many as 8619 samples have been tested till now, out of which 8559 are negative.

Earlier yesterday, the department had informed that two patients have recovered and are in the process of being discharged from hospital. Both the patients are residents of Bhubaneswar, it said, without divulging any details.
With the recovery of the two persons, the total coronavirus recoveries in Odisha now stands at 21 as 19 others had recovered earlier. The active COVID-19 cases in the State also came down to 38.
The recoveries have brought cheer among the people of the State capital that had reported 46 cases of the state’s total 60.
The State government has announced its plan to undertake testing of at least 5,000 people in Bhubaneswar in the next seven days. Besides, it said that spitting in public places will be considered as cognizable and compoundable offense by amendment of the Covid Regulation under Epidemic diseases Act with fines.
