Hockey World Cup Celebration: Water bottles, bags not allowed inside Barabati Stadium

Cuttack : Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty on Tuesday informed that the spectators of the World Cup Celebration, to be held at Barabati Stadium tomorrow, are barred from carrying water bottles, bags, fruits, biscuit packets and mirrors inside the event.

Mohanty also added that only women spectators will be allowed to carry their handbags inside the stadium. The move came after a meeting was held with various police officials.

While the area is already jam-packed with people visiting the annual Bali Yatra, the police department have scheduled to deploy 50 police platoons that include at least 300 police officers.

“The aim of the police personnel deployed is to avoid the clash between the traffic of the Barabati crowd with the Bali Yatra revelers,” said Mohanty.

He also added that different entry gates are arranged for the visitors of both the fair and the event.

The cantonment and Barabati Stadium road are likely to be closed for at least an hour for the Bali Yatra crowd during the entry and exit of spectators. This is to avoid any conflict and to maintain a smooth traffic, informed Mohanty.

While Shah Rukh Khan will steal the limelight in the Capital city, Salman will be the star in the Silver City. Besides, Oscar and Grammy award winner AR Rahman will also perform live at both the events.
