Police to take Ramesh Jena on seven more days of remand : SP

Bhubaneswar : Yet another case concerning misappropriation and illegal land grab against the accused Ex-MLA of Sanakhemundi Ramesh Jena has been lodged at Sadar police station in Berhampur on Wednesday. The police have registered the case against Jena for his alleged involvement in misappropriating a 4.5 acre land of a temple in Berhampur, said sources.

Notably, after this the total number of cases registered against Jena’s name has risen to 17. Amid such developments, the police are slowly yet steadily tightening the noose on the Ex-MLA’s neck. Meanwhile, talking to the media about taking Jena on further remand, Superintendant of Police (SP) Asish Singh said, “The police will take the former MLA on seven more days of remand, for furthering investigations into his alleged involvement in criminal cases.” As the five day remand period of Jena is to end today the police will produce him in court and may again appeal for further remand, sources said.
