Hoping that the high turnout in the first phase polls in Odisha has gone in the favour of their party, the BJP today claimed they would win at least 6 of the 10 Lok Sabha seats which went to polls on April 10. “The people want change at the Centre and the state. They have rejected the incompetent governments. The high turnout will be in favour of BJP and we hope to get six out of the 10 Lok Sabha seats in western and southern Odisha,” said Suresh Pujari, BJP spokesperson at a press conference here today.
He said that as per the feedback of party leaders, the party is confident of winning Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur and Berhampur seats. Launching an attack on Naveen Patnaik, he said the chief minister is playing minority card in the second phase polls after knowing that BJD has bitten the dust in the first phase polls.
Referring to the statement of the Global Peace Initiative president Dr KA Paul, who appealed to the people to vote for BJD in order to make its supremo Naveen Patnaik the Prime Minister of India, Pujari asked, the so-called secular image of Naveen Patnaik stands exposed.
“The BJD supremo is now playing minority card to woo the Christian community while claiming to have been an epitome of secularism. The false secular face of Naveen Patnaik will be exposed once Kandhamal Commission report comes out,” said Pujari. He also attacked at the chief minister for not taking any action against the people who were responsible for the Kandhamal riots in 2008.
